The Mountain Post Historical Center
TechWise presented The Mountain Post Historical Association a Company-level contribution for future Mountain Post Historical Center. The Museum will open on Fort Carson in 2014, construction begins in 2013. The main Museum costs an estimated $11 million, of which the Army contributed a little more than $5 million in land, infrastructure, staffing, and other components. Additional funds are raised from the Community, through donations and Corporate Sponsorships. The Army will fund and operate the Museum once it’s built. The Mountain Post Historical Center will be a dramatic, iconic landmark and Museum; preserve the storied history of Fort Carson, its connection to the Nation, and the impact on the surrounding Communities; tell the unique and colorful story of the Soldiers of Fort Carson. The Mountain Post Historical Center will also serve as a focal point for reunions of Fort Carson Veterans from all eras since the Post’s founding in 1942; and is a way to honor and recognize sacrifices and contributions made by the men and women who served and will serve at Fort Carson.
