COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – July 3, 2014 – TechWise today announced that it will begin operations as the prime contractor for Air Traffic Control (ATC) Services, Fort Bliss, TX. The contract was competed under the Operations, Planning, Training and Resource Support Services II (OPTARSS II) umbrella contract which provides services to support operational mission requirements of United States Army Forces Command and others throughout the Army and Department of Defense. TechWise will assist the government in managing, operating and maintaining airfield flight operations and air traffic control at Briggs Army Airfield.
Biggs Army Airfield is capable of supporting all Army aircraft and all Air Force Air Mobility Command aircraft. It has the tenth longest runway in the United States and is the longest runway in the United States Army. The airfield is managed by the Airfield Division, which is an organization assigned under the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS), at Fort Bliss, Texas.

The Air Traffic Control Services contract includes all functions, tasks and responsibilities normally performed by an ATC organization. TechWise will perform all Air Traffic Services functions for the ATC Branch, including maintaining ATC systems and operating the Airfield Traffic Control Tower and Airspace Information Center (AIC).
