Colorado Springs-based defense contractor TechWise was awarded a contract to provide support base services at Fort Carson beginning next year.
TechWise will begin as the prime contractor in the deal Jan. 1 and will “augment Garrison personnel over a three-year effort to support the mobilization, deployment, redeployment, and demobilization mission at Fort Carson,” said a news release.
TechWise, which specializes in support, logistics and training services for the U.S. Department of Defense, will provide support in areas including plans, training, mobilization, security and human resources to ensure consistency amid changes the military experiences.
“TechWise has been doing important work at Fort Carson since 2004, and it is our most rewarding and enduring local relationship,” President and CEO Shawnee Huckstep said in the release. “This is our 14th contract at the Mountain Post and we are proud to serve Fort Carson soldiers, and this mission supporting those who deploy and redeploy could not be more intrinsic to the Army mission.”
Headquartered in Colorado Springs and the United Arab Emirates, TechWise has grown over the past 20 years to become a major contractor for the DoD in the areas of training, logistics, organizational improvement, doctrine development and education. The company also operates in elsewhere in Colorado and maintains sites in Washington, California, New Mexico, Georgia, Texas and the Middle East.
